Or you could say he sets what he thinks is a fair price and won't budge from it, refusing to be taken advantage of by a bigger club...just what I'd want if I were a Villa fan...

Big grin Ironic

Luke Young's £2.5m move to Liverpool is in doubt as the 31-year-old defender wants a pay-off from Aston Villa as he would have to take a drop in wages. (BBC)

Only 3 out of the 20 teams have not yet made a player transfer - Villa, Blackburn and Stoke.

It's times like these that I get so frustrated with MON's cautious approach. At the moment he couldn't sign a bar tab...

Default Bollocks

Aiden McGeady has joined Spartak Moscow from Celtic on a four-year contract.

The Republic of Ireland international had been linked with a move to England, but will now head to eastern Europe in a deal believed to be close to £10million.

Robbie Keane now 2/3 to join Villa by August 31st.

We could do a hell of a lot worse, and desperately need cover for a crocked Carew, ever-present Agbonlahor (who'll need rest), young Delfouneso and useless Heskey.

If we just make make one more signing, this is the one we need...

The Irish connection - it makes sense to me. He'd feast off Young, Downing, Albrighton etc., in the 6-yard box.

Guys, Spur's 4th choice striker is really the player you think would turn our season from being potentially average to very good?

I disagree.

He doesn't seem to fit at Spurs, definitely didn't fit at Liverpool but did well at Celtic. I'd give him a shot over Heskey and Carew.

Big grin "These are the The Chaaaaaampiooons"

August 20: Alex Hleb says "I have a rule at the moment that the only situation I will entertain is playing in the Champions League."

August 31: Alex Hleb applies for work permit to play for Birmingham.
